Changes reflect national lockdown

Green Line 702 services into central London will be suspended

Council-owned Reading Buses has announced the suspension of a small number of their services over the next couple of weeks.

The operator says that with the current lockdown it makes sense to make the changes due to significantly fewer passenger travelling.

From next Monday both the Winnersh Triangle Park & Ride 500 and Green Line 702 services into central London will be suspended.

The operator says passenger numbers on both these services are extremely low and each of them has alternatives nearby for those who need to travel.

There will also be further changes from February 1 with a Saturday timetable introduced from Monday to Saturday on three other routes while frequencies on ‘Leopard’ branded routes will be reduced as a result of local authority funding reductions.

“With approximately only 25% of customers who normally travel doing so at the moment, due to the restrictions on non-essential journeys, we have more than enough capacity for social distancing,” said chief executive Robert Williams,

“As a result, we are making adjustments in a small number of areas where services aren’t currently needed. For example, to Legoland, Windsor.”
