Key appointments in commercial operations and marketing and communications

Matt Holton and Ross Hitchcock have joined Trentbarton

Two key managers have joined bus operator Trentbarton to lead the bus company’s commercial operations and its marketing and communications.

Ross Hitchcock has joined as commercial manager and Matt Holton is the marketing and communications manager.

Hitchcock joins from Stagecoach Oxfordshire where he worked in the commercial team for 14 years, most recently as commercial manager.

Holton has joined Trentbarton from Derby’s IT managed service provider Xuper where he was marketing and communications manager for three years following a similar role at Nottingham IT firm XMA.

Hitchcock, whose role will include Trentbarton’s timetabling, routes and fares, said: “Joining Trentbarton is an exciting opportunity. It is a company that has an excellent reputation in our industry.

“Its size means it is able to constantly innovate and is widely recognised across public transport as being creative. This is a challenging time for the bus sector but Trentbarton has the ability to quickly adapt to the road ahead.”

Holton, whose role includes Trentbarton’s website, social media campaigns and advertising, said: “My previous roles have been in business-to-business organisations, so joining Trentbarton is a great opportunity to experience marketing to the consumer.

“It is fascinating that buses transport people to so many different places and for many different reasons, some routine and others very special. With my technology background, I share Trentbarton’s desire to explore how tech can enhance the customer experience, including on board, in ticketing and communications.”

Tom Morgan, commercial director of Trentbarton, said: “In Ross and Matt we have excellent additions to our team. Both will play key roles in driving forward our vision for providing the UK’s best bus experience for our customers.”
