Move sees The Kings Ferry and Lucketts operations combined

National Express Group has announced a restructuring of its coach operations in the UK.

It sees the group’s existing Kent-based The Kings Ferry business and the recently acquired Lucketts Group operation merged into a single business division. The move aims to deliver a comprehensive range of transport solutions across the UK, including private hire bookings and coach holidays.

Tony Lawman of Lucketts Group will become managing director while The Kings Ferry’s Ian Fraser will take on the role of chief operating officer of the newly formed business division, National Express Transport Solutions.

Commenting on the new business, NatEx UK MD Tom Stables, said: “The current UK coach market is fragmented with lots of local offerings from often small, independent family run businesses.

“The Kings Ferry and Lucketts already have a significant presence in the corporate travel sector. By forming National Express Transport Solutions, we can leverage their joint capabilities with National Express’ strength as a recognised and trusted brand to deliver a consistent high-quality UK-wide product for all requirements.”

Both The Kings Ferry and Lucketts groups are long-established providers of corporate travel, private hire, commuter coach services and touring holidays using The Kings Ferry, Clarkes of London, Stewarts, Woods, Lucketts, Coliseum, Mortons, Solent and Worthing Coaches brands.
