Nominations have opened for this year’s European Talent in Mobility Awards, a pan-European competition that aims to find the continent’s best and brightest

transport professionals. The award winners will be revealed at the biannual Transports Publics show which will be held in Paris in June.

Nominations are being sought for individuals from across the continent who have distinguished themselves in their organisation. Judges say that they are keen to seek out candidates at all stages of their career path.

British management talent has been recognised by the awards in the past. Four years ago Derek Lott, the then recently retired managing director of RATP Dev subsidiary Yellow Buses, was named as winner of the special career service award.

Meanwhile, Alex Hornby, who is now chief executive of Yorkshire-based bus operator Transdev Blazefield, was the winner of the award for best project manager.

This year there will be five categories for the awards, covering best young talent, best project manager, best manager, special career service award and the internet users’ award.

The best young talent award aims to reward a young player in the sector who has proven themselves within their organisation. Judges are seeking creative, proactive and enthusiastic team players.

The best project manager award aims to find an individual who has shown themselves to be outstanding in the field of project management and judges are seeking to reward a recognised manager or decision maker for their undisputed management skills for the best manager award.

Meanwhile, the special career service award aims to find an outstanding and recognised individual for their services to public transport. Finally, the internet users’ award will be determined by a vote on the Transports Publics website from the shortlisted nominees in each category.

The deadline for submitting a nomination is April 8 and more details about the process and the competition can be found at
