Head of Commercial

We’ve got a great commercial team in South Wales who are responsible for ensuring our services deliver what they need to from a customer, colleague and community perspective. All they need is someone to lead them forward – and that’s where you come in.

Our marvellous Commercial Manager is moving on through promotion in the Stagecoach Group, and thus we need someone equally-marvellous to take the team forward.

And it’s a pretty important role in our business to say the least!

The team design and shape our network across the whole of the South East Wales, Mid Wales, West of Wales and into Hereford, developing profitable and deliverable solutions to commercial opportunities – so ultimately you’ll be a key part of our commercial success.

That will involve:

  • Leading on business development including stakeholder engagement, network planning, fares and ticketing development.
  • Corporate planning – analysing customer and revenue data to develop strategies that improve business performance.
  • Leading on corporate contract and public sector bidding opportunities.

In terms of the business, Stagecoach South Wales is a great business to be a part of. With the Head-office in Cwmbran and operating area covering from Newtown in the North of Wales to Swansea, Hereford, Cardiff and the valley communities of South East Wales, our near 900 colleagues make sure our 20 million customer journeys (pre-pandemic), both urban and rural operations, are delivered to the highest standards.

With depots at Aberdare, Blackwood, Brynmawr, Caerphilly, Cwmbran, Merthyr and Porth, we’re an integral part of the communities which we serve, connecting people through over 18 million miles of routes across South East, South West and Mid and North Wales as well as England.

If you’re looking for a career-making opportunity, you’d be hard-pushed to find anything better!

There’s a couple of things we’ll need from you…

  • The most important thing we need (not to sound demanding!) is the people piece – you’ll be a natural when it comes to supporting the team from the front.
  • We’ll also need that underpinning knowledge of networking planning within the transport industry – be that bus or any other modality for that matter.

And the rest we can figure out together!

So if we’ve piqued your interest and you’re keen to add value to our business, apply online at stagecoachbus.com/careers by 8th September.

REMEMBER: When you contact a company to enquire about the job they are advertising say that you saw it on passengertransport.co.uk
