FGW and Singapore Airlines in UK-first scheme

First Great Western has launched the UK’s first rail-air through ticketing scheme with Heathrow Express and Singapore Airlines.

It enables passengers from 11 destinations on the FGW network, including Bath, Bristol, Oxford and Cardiff, to arrange international flights and rail travel to and from Heathrow under a single booking on the rail-fly.com website.

Total price reductions for the integrated fares include 13% off rail and air travel from Bristol to Brisbane. The site also provides advice on the best train times to connect with flights.

Both SNCF and Deutsche Bahn offer similar integrated rail and air ticketing on key services on their TGV and ICE networks respectively.
